For Divers
Become a Reeflogger
If you are a certified SSI/PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent from other certification agencies), you are eligible to participate in Reeflog! Please contact a Reeflog partner dive centre in the region where you’d like to dive, to have the most effective survey dive.
Prior to your dive, your dive instructor/divemaster will walk you through a simple briefing, so you can familiarise yourself with basic ID skills. We recommend that you refer to the Reeflog Traning Manual as well, to get a strong understanding of what species you will record during your dive, and why.
During your dive, you will use our Reeflog data collection slates to record the species you see, as well as their abundance. The data sheet contains illustrations of all species we would like you to record, which you can use as a reference as well.
Once you complete your Reeflog dives, you can upload the data you collected on our website. Once you have uploaded the data you’ve noted, you’re a successful Reeflogger!
